Cupid’s arrow truly can strike at any given moment. For
Sarah and Drew it was on an elevator while interning in Washington D.C. Sarah
was taken with how smartly dressed the young man was opposite her. A
conversation followed and soon they were caught up in all of the things they had
in common even though they were raised thousands of miles apart.
Just as their passion for politics brought them away from their homes, their connection to each other held them fast and helped their love to grow. So it was only fitting that the thing that brought them across the country to find each other should be celebrated on the day of their wedding.
On July 5th of 2014, Melody and I had the pleasure of photographing the most patriotic wedding we’ve ever been to. From the red, white, and blue color scheme, to the sparklers at the end, it was truly a celebration that embodied what can bring two hearts together even when their starting points are so far apart, Faith, Love, and Country. Life truly is a splendor.

Six pretty bridesmaids all in a row. |
The amazing sign that a guest made for the wedding. As a former signmaker myself, I have to say, that's some top notch work. |
Looking back across the lake. |
After dinner I snuck our couple out to the vineyard to catch the falling sun. |
If these expressions don't say 'love', I don't know what does. |
The walk was lined with guests and their sparklers as the bride and groom made their departure, putting the perfect punctuation on the day of festivities. |
