All You Need Is Love: Turlock California Wedding Photographer

What do you get when you mix a Beatle's music theme with a new venue, amazing attention to detail, the fairgrounds, and a team of family, friends and vendors all working together to make sure that everything went off without a hitch (save for the marrying part that is, since they most certainly are “hitched”)? You get a virtual funfest of a wedding. But that's not how it started.

A small number of Erin and Will's closest family and friends were invited to a private ceremony in the backyard of a family friend. With a southern colonial-styled home in the background and the humidity and heat to match, we bore witness to a very touching union. It was enough to crack even the toughest of little brothers.

After formals, we headed over to the Turlock Fairgrounds, where a new venue has been opened for use. Erin and Will's wedding was its first run and it looked amazing. The details were perfect, from the seating cards hung around a tree to the fire hydrant they had everyone sign (Will is a fire fighter). But that wasn't the end of it.

After the dancing got underway and the drinks were flowing, they had a fair-style corn dog vendor pull up to the back of the venue and set up a cotton candy machine. Melody and I put our wonderful assistant Jessica in charge of a Shot Spot and before toasts, three of Erin and Will's friends surprised them with a song written just for Erin. It was quite the evening. And if you're wondering how people got home, Erin and Will secured a bus to shuttle guests to and from a local hotel so that no one had to worry about driving. On all levels, it was exactly what a wedding – and marriage – should be, a perfect balance of tenderness, fun, wildness, thoughtfulness, and love.

Erin and Will, thanks again for including us in this amazing wedding.

For those of you that entered the Shot Spot, Erin and Will have made those photos available to you with the password that was on their wedding card at the reception. If you didn't get one, drop Erin or I a note and we'll get you the password. The location for that gallery is here: http://melodyanddavid.zenfolio.com/erinandwillshotspot
