A Patriotic July 5th Wedding at East Lake Ranch in Turlock CA

Cupid’s arrow truly can strike at any given moment. For Sarah and Drew it was on an elevator while interning in Washington D.C. Sarah was taken with how smartly dressed the young man was opposite her. A conversation followed and soon they were caught up in all of the things they had in common even though they were raised thousands of miles apart.

Just as their passion for politics brought them away from their homes, their connection to each other held them fast and helped their love to grow. So it was only fitting that the thing that brought them across the country to find each other should be celebrated on the day of their wedding.

On July 5th of 2014, Melody and I had the pleasure of photographing the most patriotic wedding we’ve ever been to. From the red, white, and blue color scheme, to the sparklers at the end, it was truly a celebration that embodied what can bring two hearts together even when their starting points are so far apart, Faith, Love, and Country. Life truly is a splendor.

This has got to be the most photogenic flower girl in the world. I don't know how she managed to be in all the right light at all the right times, but she was, and we have LOTS of photos of her being adorable.

There is an entire section of selfies in the moments just before the ceremony, this was my favorite. Sarah and her dad.

Six pretty bridesmaids all in a row.

The amazing sign that a guest made for the wedding. As a former signmaker myself, I have to say, that's some top notch work.

East Lake Ranch and Vineyard has several beautiful locations for bridals. Many photographers take advantage of the lake itself, but if you've got an eye for it, you can find secret spots like this as well.

After dinner I snuck our couple out to the vineyard to catch the falling sun.

If these expressions don't say 'love', I don't know what does.

The walk was lined with guests and their sparklers as the bride and groom made their departure, putting the perfect punctuation on the day of festivities.
